Frances came into the care of the Waifs and Strays Society at York as a tiny child, following the death of her mother. From 1920 - 31 they gave her a home and a good childhood, and laid the foundations of the deep Christian faith which sustained her all through her life. She never ceased to be grateful for their kindness and care.
When tomorrow starts without me and I am not there to see, If the sun should rise and find your eyes are filled with tears for me, I wish so much you wouldn’t cry, the way you did today, While thinking of the many things we didn’t get to say.
Peggy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was very proud of her husband, Tom, her son, Peter, and grandchildren Kate, Joe and Rob.
Regina Ochei dedicated her life to teaching and supporting children - not least us, her own children. She and her youngest daughter did the London Bridges Walk for this cause, and Regina would be glad to be remembered through donations towards building futures for vulnerable children.
Kiersten Rylee Peterson was born on October 16th 2007 at 8:14am with out a breath. She was born at 20 week of gestation after being diagnosed with Renal Agenesis. At 18 weeks of gestation it was determined by ultrasound that Kiersten Rylee had no kidneys and no bladder. After a second opinion it was decided to induce Baby Kiersten early.
Betty collected funds for many years at St. Mark with St. Margaret Church, Plumstead S E 18 and received a certificate of thanks from the Society to mark her achievement. She moved to Kent a few years ago and celebrated her 91st birthday in January before her death on 29th February 2008.
Phil was a talented footballer and all round sportsman, loving son and brother to twin Andy. During his two year battle with a brain tumour, Phil had to also deal with the death of his mother Chris. This incredible young man astounded family, friends and doctors with his amazing sense of humour and enormous courage.
When my dad died at the great age of 96 it was a huge shock as just a few days before he had been laughing and joking at my 60th birthday. For as long as I can remember he and my mum, Ethel, had raised funds for the Children's Society.
Catherine (Catie) a life lived with depth and width not length, with quality not quantity. Catherine always tried to live every day to the full. She loved dancing and art. She was beautiful.
Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush. Of quiet birds in circled flight.
Thank you for your donation in memory of a dear colleague and friend who will be greatly missed.
